Xiaomi Mi Max 2, the successor to last year’s Mi Max phablet, was launched in China in May is going to hit the Indian market. On the launch day itself, Xiaomi’s spokesperson talked about company’s plans for the overseas market of these phones.
Following company’s roadmaps for the overseas markets last, they launched Mi Max 2 along with Xiaomi’s flagship phone Xiaomi Mi6 week in Russia. Now it’s time to hit the Indian market.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2: 18th July, New Delhi – Big is Back.
Xiaomi has sent invites to media for the event in New Delhi which is going to take place on 18th July. Today they have shown a teaser picture on their community forum with the tagline “Big is Back”. Display and Battery:
Mi Max 2 bears the same design aesthetics as its predecessor Mi Max with an aluminum unibody casing having a fingerprint sensor on the back. It features 6.44inch Full-HD display.
This time it will come with massive 5300mAh non-removable battery with Quick charge 3.0 support.
Xiaomi claims that the Mi Max 2 will get charge upt0 68% in just one hour, all thanks to QC 3.0. The massive 5300mAh battery will last for two days with a full charge. The weight of Mi Max 2 is around 211g.
Processor and Memory:
Mi Max bears Qualcomm’s Cortex A53 based Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor with the clock speed of 2GHz. Adreno 506 will handle graphic intensive tasks.
Inside the hood, there is 4GB of RAM module. Since like its predecessor Mi Max, the Mi Max 2 will also come with two storage variants 64GB and 128GB.
Cameras and OS:
As far as cameras are concerned, there will be a 12MP camera with the Sony IMX386 sensor on the rear side coupled with dual tone LED flash. A 5MP selfie camera on the front side.
Phase detection mode and beautify mode will be there. Mi Max 2 also boasts dual power amplifier stereo speakers.
Mi Max 2 runs on MIUI 8 on the top on Android Nougat version. ( MIUI 9 is going to release on 16ht August as per sources).
Connectivity and Sensors:
For the connectivity, the Mi mAx 2 includes Dual WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type C. It is Dual SIM (Nano-SIM/ Micro-SIM, dual stand-by) phablet with VoLTE support.
Mi Max 2 bears Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity, and Compass sensors.
In China, 64GB variant was priced at CNY 1,699 (Approx Rs.17,000) and 128GB at CNY 1,899 (Approx Rs.19,000). Price factors are likely to be same or near to China price in the Indian market since they will assemble in India only.
It is likely to go on sale on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s own store Mi.com.
